PLEASE NOTE:
"Poisonous" does not mean deadly. Some manifestations of toxicity are subtle. The dose, as always, determines if a plant is safe source of nutrients or a toxic hazard.

BRIEF: Are crassula (jade plants) poisonous to humans?

QUESTION:
Are crassula (jade plants) poisonous to humans?

ANSWER:

It is known to cause diarrhea and irritate the intestine. It is related to the much more toxic Pig's ears (Colyledon orbiculata) and the various Kalanchoe species. I don't think enough jade plant gets eaten to really test its potential as a toxin, but it is one of the most frequently referred plants to poison centers!
