BRIEF: Is this mushroom poisonous?


QUESTION:
We found a mushroom growing by one of our oak trees and it is a lavender color under the cap and on the gills. We wanted to know if it is poisonous or not and what caused the purple color.

ANSWER:
I can't identify tour fungus from here by that description. It is better that you get a local expert to help you get a valid classification for it with the real thing in their hands.
