PLEASE NOTE:
"Poisonous" does not mean deadly. Some manifestations of toxicity are subtle. The dose, as always, determines if a plant is safe source of nutrients or a toxic hazard.

BRIEF: Is St Johns Wart poisonous to humans?

QUESTION:
I have another question about St. Johns Wort. Is it poisonous to humans? I've been drinking the tea for about 2 weeks now.

ANSWER:

The dose is key. If you were grazing on the stuff and went out to do some sun-bathing, then you would have a problem, but the little bit of hypericin you get in a few sips of tea are unlikely to hurt you.
